Sami Sharif is the Vice Chairman and CEO of Misr Emirates Takaful Life Insurance Company “METLICO”, a new subsidiary of Salama group in Egypt. He is the former CEO of AIM Consulting, a management and actuarial consulting firm with activities in the MENA and Asia Pacific region. He is a board member of SALAMA Senegal, previously he was a board member of Omni Life in the UK, a board member of ACE life insurance Company in Egypt, a board member of the Insurance Federation in Egypt. Hae is the former Regional CEO of ACE Life Insurance Company, a former consultant with Booz & Company in MENA and with McKinsey & Company in the US and Asia. He started his career in the insurance industry in 1989 as a Marketing Actuary with AIG in New York and he then became the Chief Actuary of ALICO in MENA region.

In recent years, Mr. Sharif helped Conventional Insurers and Takaful Operators in developing their entry strategies and implementation and business plans in South Asia and MENA. He also developed the Group Medical Departments and developed advanced Family Takaful products in MENA region.

Mr. Sharif has a Bachelor Degree in Mathematics and Space Physics from the University of Houston and a Master Degree in Mathematics. He is a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries (FSA) from the USA and a Member of the American Academy of Actuaries (MAAA) since 1993.
